Samsung Washer Won't Spin — Causes and Fixes

A washer that washes but will not spin is usually protecting itself: an unbalanced load, an unlocked door, standing water, or a motor fault. Check in this order.

Safety first. Unplug the washer before opening any panel or pump filter cover, and turn the taps off before disconnecting a hose. Informational only — not professional repair advice.

1. Rebalance the load

Spread laundry evenly, add similar items to a lone heavy piece, and level the washer feet. This fixes most spin failures.

2. Door and drain

Confirm the door clicks locked, and confirm the tub is empty — the washer will not spin with standing water or an open door.

3. Motor and clutch

If the drum will not turn by hand, grinds, or the code returns on a light balanced load, stop — motor, clutch or sensor testing is service work.
